Import Package Files

Package files allow different Wordfast Pro (WFP) users to share files. Imports consist of package files exported by another WFP user. When you import a package file, you automatically connect the files to translation memories and glossaries. You also gain access to all translatable files and additional resources. This eliminates the need for a manual project set up.

To import package files:

  1. On the Projects tab, click Import Package.
      Best Practice:

    For ease of use, you can drag-and-drop to move a package file into the window's white space.

  2. On the Import Package dialog, click Browse to locate and select the package file.
      Note:

    Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.

  3. Choose one of the following:

    • Update the active project by clicking Update an existing project and its options.

    • Create a new project by clicking Create a new project and its options.

  4. (Optional) Select Open project after importing to open the updated or new project when the import completes.
  5. Click Import.

    The package file is imported.

      Note:

    If you did not deselect Open project after importing, the current project view opens and displays files for translation.
