Wordfast Anywhere

As of WFA version 5.4, you can now import Wordfast Pro 5 packages and automatically connect to remote TM and glossary assets. This is extremely helpful for users running Wordfast Server as your external vendors can choose between a desktop tool or use our free online tool to import, translate, and return packages. It could also be helpful if you’re away from the office and want to get a translation done on your mobile or tablet.

Wordfast Classic

Part of our profession engages in transcreation—or creative translation—which is part translation, part authoring. Translation memory is rarely used in that case. Wordfast Classic now offers an integration with Microsoft Word’s own thesaurus. The advantage is that synonyms become a push feature, automatically available at the translator’s fingertips, while typing, without the need for shortcuts or menus.

User Conference

The next Wordfast Forward (#WFF19) user conference will take place in Sainte-Luce, Martinique from March 21-23, 2019 and feature three days of training, workshops, a keynote, panel discussions, networking, our 20-year anniversary celebration and more!

Announcing the WFF19 Keynote Speaker:
Jean-Philippe Valentin
Imagine you are in a foreign country – Martinique for example – and need to go to the hospital? Oh, and you don’t speak a word of French! Jean-Philippe Valentin will share some background about the appeal of Martinique’s hospitals and how foreign patients are welcomed in French hospitals. More specifically, he will focus on the administrative formalities necessary to cover their hospitalization expenses and how translation and interpreting play a crucial role throughout the duration of a patient’s stay.
